St. John's Mosley Common C.E. Primary School

Healthy Schools Status

In September 2006, our school was accredited with National Healthy School status. This was the culmination of 12 months' work in school involving a lot of time and effort from a lot of people.  Mrs Walker who led the drive towards our Healthy School status would like to thank the members of the task group who worked very hard towards achieving this goal.

Task group members

Anita Araaj (school nurse)                Laura Hodson (PSHE & C link worker)

Andrea Heaton (teacher)                 Debbie Jones (teaching assistant)

Sam Aspin (Nursery)                        Karen Thorpe (Parent)

Louise Driess (Parent Governor)       Sarah Connor (Nursery, Parent)

Laura Anderson (Parent)                  Nicky Crowther (Parent)

Warren George (Headteacher)

A big thank you to all the staff and parents for their contribution and also thanks to all the visitors who came in to contribute in many ways, particularly during Health week.

We feel we have made many changes during the last year and the impact has been very positive. The feedback we have had from parents has been very encouraging and the children themselves are more aware and are responding to health issues both in school and at home.

That is not the end of the story, however, and we as a school will continue to work to sustain this achievement and continue to work at being a "Healthy School".
